Blog: Impressions
Welcome to my Blog: Impressions
I named my blog Impressions because it’s a word that often comes up in how I think about my work. As an old-world immigrant exploring a new-world landscape, my photographs reflect my impressions of my new home - my way of making sense of my surroundings while also searching for familiar traces of the home I left behind.
This blog is more than just a blog. It’s a place where I share my impressions of the world through my camera. I hope you enjoy it.
A Love Letter to New York State
New York State has been my adopted home since 2009 and I have loved being able to explore such a wonderful and varied landscape. However 2026 will mark the end of my time here, so before I go I thought it timely to write a blog about some of the wonderful landscapes that make up this fantastic region.
A Journey to Pine Hill
This weekend I proudly opened my first solo photography exhibition in the Catskills and it couldn’t have gone any better. ”Journeys: Chasing Light in the Catskills” is an exhibition of stories and photographs documenting my adventures in the Catskills since January 2023. Thank you to everyone who came out to the opening, bought my work and made contacts so that we can plan where to take it next.
If you haven’t been ably to make it there yet, no worries as the show will be on the walls until Saturday 11th October.
